Characteristics of the Fitrah
By Ash-Shaikh Salih Al-Fawzan (حفظه اللّه)
And from the great virtues that our straight (correct) religion has come with are the characteristics of the fitrah which have been mentioned in the hadeeth, which has been authentically reported in Al-Bukhari and Muslim on the authority of Abu Hurairah y that he said: the messenger of Allah r said: “There are five things from the fitrah: using metal (blade for removing the pubic hair), circumcision, trimming the mustache, plucking the armpit hair, and cutting the nails”, and has been called the characteristics of the fitrah because the one who performs them is characterized with the fitrah that Allah has established upon his servants, incited them toward and made it a beloved act for them so that they may be have the most complete and noble attributes, have the most beautiful appearance and best disposition. It is a very old way (sunnah) which the prophets chose and the different legislations agreed upon. These characteristics are:

The Obligation of Hajj and Umrah
By The Imam Ash-Shaikh Abdul-Azeez Ibn Baz (رحمه اللّه)
Know (may Allâh give you and I success in awareness of the truth and following it) that Allâh the Mighty and Sublime has obligated upon His servants the pilgrimage to His holy house (the kabah) and made it one of the pillars of Islam, Allâh says: “and Hajj to the House is a duty that mankind owes to Allâh, those who can afford the expenses; and whoever disbelieves, then Allâh stands not in need of any of the Alamin (mankind, jinn, and all that exists)” -Al-Imran: 97.

Pillars of Imân (Faith)

Q: How many pillars of Imân are there, what is
the meaning of every pillar, what are their proofs and what are their fruits
(benefits)?
A: The pillars of Imân are six: they are to believe in Allâh, in His angels,
in His books, in His messengers, the Last Day, and to believe in the divine decree
it’s good and bad from Allâh be He blessed and High.
